Four pillars of charitable giving

Giving back is at the forefront of what we do, helping to drive social, economic and educational opportunities where we live and work across the U.S. and on Bermuda. Global Atlantic nurtures charitable giving at all levels and through many means. From Corporate and Foundation partnerships to individual contributions of resources and time, Global Atlantic and our employees are making a difference. As of 1/1/24, $4.5 million was donated and matched to charities.

The Global Atlantic Foundation

Founded in 2021, our foundation provides opportunities to small businesses tackling ongoing dynamic community needs.

Philanthropic partnerships

Accion Opportunity Fund

Provides access to capital and coaching to entrepreneurs.
To date we helped nearly 370 small business owners access capital and more than 900 owners access coaching to drive their businesses forward.

SCORE Foundation

Enhances small business success through free access to mentors, tools, workshops and education.
We support six underserved communities of small business owners—Women, Asian, Rural, Black, Veterans, Latino.

Streetwise Partners

Connects underrepresented talent to mentorship and career opportunities in Detroit, New York City and Washington, D.C.
Each year, 200 mentees are served, and their wages increase by an average of $50,000 when they obtain employment.

The Global Atlantic Re Foundation

Founded in 2023, the Global Re foundation supports economic development, education, and environmental sustainability initiatives island wide.

Bermuda College

Offers the highest standard of academic excellence.
We provide scholarships to students in need who are pursuing actuarial studies, business administration or computer information systems.

Bermuda Economic Development Corporation members

Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC)

Supports businesses with education, guidance, advocacy, networking and finance.
We host a pitch competition to provide grants to five entrepreneurs.

Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science (BIOS)

Uses science to benefit people and communities around the world.
Our funding supports the “Deep-sea Biodiversity Assessment” project.

Keep Bermuda Beautiful

Engages individuals through education and action to reduce waste and eliminate litter.
We partner with them to host litter clean-ups and educate employees on reducing waste.

Our employees have a passion to serve, and Global Atlantic supports their giving at every step with resources to help increase their impact in our communities.

Donate to eligible nonprofit organizations of their choice
Nominate a charity important to them for a chance to win a grant

Global Atlantic

Matches employee donations up to set amounts each year
Offers a greater match amount for donations made in the last month of each quarter

Nurture inclusion

Groups of committed employees help foster a sense of belonging through service projects and donations within our company and beyond our doors:

Employee engagement advisory councils (EEACs) seek to increase employee connection in our local offices.

Diversity business networks (DBNs) engage, develop and advocate for under-recognized groups.

Each year, Global Atlantic provides funding to these groups to donate to or sponsor local/national, eligible charities, and encourages employee participation in service events.

Amplify assistance

GO project

Annually, Global Atlantic sponsors the GO Project, where employees can apply for a more significant award to a charity they are personally involved with or feel passionate about. The winner and runners-up receive monetary awards.

2023 Winner

Variety – The Children’s Charity of Iowa

This charity’s mobility program provides bikes and equipment for children who never had a bike, and specialized bikes and other mobility equipment for children living with special needs.

Fall 2023

Rally for Reid Foundation

This charity's mission is to provide support for families and children impacted by childhood cancer and to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.

Company-Directed Giving

At the Corporate level, we give to causes that are meaningful and important to our employees and society in general. Gifts of all sizes support education, healthcare, the arts, and nonprofit organizations tackling economic and social issues. If tragedy strikes, Global Atlantic offers critical, essential crisis response when needed in our communities. Doing good for the planet

We support crucial forest health initiatives in a multi-year partnership with the National Forest Foundation.

Our 2022-2023 impact:

54,801 trees planted on 399 acres post wildfires
587 Navajo and Hopi families received wood for heating, cooking and building
50 acres of restoration to be more resilient against wildfire

Volunteering

We support volunteerism, encouraging employees to share their time and talents when and how they choose. Our generous policy offers eligible employees paid time off during regular business hours to volunteer at eligible nonprofits. And Global Atlantic leaders foster an environment that empowers teams to volunteer together.
